History

Established by the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, St. Joseph Hospital was completed in 1925, with an expansion and major additions of a chapel and dormitory in the 1950s. The 120-bed hospital served the greater Ottumwa area and provided employment and training opportunities in conjunction with St. Josephs’ School of Nursing.

Development

Located in the heart of the Vogel historic district, St. Joseph’s Square will feature luxury townhome living for today’s lifestyles. Blending modern amenities with traditional lines and open floor plans, St. Joseph’s Square is being designed to meet the needs of young professionals, empty nesters, and transitional housing for business while providing the different living option not readily available in the area. Development is underway, starting with the site being cleared over the summer. You can look forward to seeing the first townhomes start construction fall of 2018.
